woooooooooooooooooow
I took a few days off because I had no time to sit in front of the computer and look what I've found.
As the owner of a Brazillian community at Orkut which structure is almost like AW.org and moderator in other 6 different communities, I must do nothing less than give Robert all my support.
Samantha, I know exactly how stressful and painful our "work" can be. Dealing with humans isn't easy, dealing with hundreds is even worst.
Nobody is perfect, even you and me aren't and nobody has the right to "judge" other people. We don't know exactly what happens inside Chad's head and as I can see, there are some people saying he's a nice guy but he has this "pathology".
Your attitude was very correct and professional. I didn't know if would do exactly the same if it happens in one of the communities I take care. Not being an apple polisher, I still have a lot to learn with you.
You let the message very clear, you always treated Chad with respect up to the last second, and at the same time you had to be "cold" enough to protect the community and the members. Only a very small group of people know how to keep this balance. You didn't take it personal as "i have to do that because it's Chad", but "unfortunately I have to do that to Chad as the last resource I have because his attitude can cause a huge disaster to the community and all the other actions didn't work" I know you thought zillions of times before hitting the ban button and I understand it was a difficult but necessary decision. Nobody likes to see a member going away.
automaticwasher.org isn't a tiny community like mine. It's a global reference! If we start checking our members, we'll find people from all continents and (seeking quickly) more than 20 countries. All this success didn't come overnight. I'm sure you had to spend a lot of time to create the website and you still spend monitoring everything and always surprising us with some enhances.
I don't know if you remember but our first contact years ago was about the great work you've been doing during these years. AW.org is fun, user friendly even for those who are not used to computers and internet, you and most of the members have a huge technical and historical knowledge and best of all, aw.org is reliable. We can really trust the informations here.
Thank you, Robert, for being so brilliant.
