Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

A nudge of encouragement

I know how much Eddie loves his Unimatic. I understand completely. And I once had one of these Keyboard babies, too; but if both machines were hanging from the proverbial cliff, and I had to save only one, I don't think I could do it. That is how satisfying a KB LK really is. I'd probably have to jump, rather than choose between the two, and hope I could fly. You really want to experience the magic of an LK Keyboard.

A long haul, RevKev, but one of the the best hauls you'll ever make.

Okay People....

Let's look at the picture again....

Look at the shade of the push-buttons on the washer. If you notice that on THAT particular style of console on the Keyboard Kenmore Series, you'll notice that the shade of push-buttons on the Kenmore Model 900 and the Lady Kenmore are actually different from each other.

During that era, it looked to me like the Kenmore Model 900 had the darker push-buttons than did the Lady Kenmore.

So..... that washer in that picture in that ad is a Kenmore Model 900, and it is a 1969-71 Model 900.

I think Gordon will even agree with me on this one.

Won't you, Gordon??? (LOL)

Out of room

I can't pick up anymore machines until I thin out the Collection. I'll be posting as what I want to pass along.

I am going on a road trip to Florida soon. I could meet anyone interested in a machine on the wa down south.

Charles -

You picked up on something I hadn't noticed. The buttons are definitely more brownish, at least they appear so. The true '66 lady's buttons had gold colored appliques on them. Remember there was a '66 900 (the Lady K), and later the 900s - a '910, a '920, and a '930 (these are abbreviations of the model numbers). Not only that, there was John's 1970-something 800 (but his had other brownish hues on the control panel I believe, right?), so who knows what this machine is. There may have been others we haven't found yet either!

Maybe we'll find out more about this washer because one of our more illustrious members here wants this washer, and it and the dryer might stage through Charlotte for temporary housing (the washer) so I can send it to California with a company shipment. I think that dryer would look downright cool next to the GreenBeast washer, so if this set gets purchased by said other member, lol, I'll be acquiring the dryer.

I am growing more and more curious about this generation of Lady Ks, wish I'd been able to enjoy that one I had. At the time I never appreciated it.

LOVE the coppertone though!

Gordon

Now I'm hooked::

As if I were ever not to be hooked by Kenmores of this generation. I would have thought this washer to be the Coppertone version of Jon's, but this could be different? I can't wait to see more photos if said member purchases it.

Have a good one,
James

They are going to be picked up tomorrow morning (Sunday)....

Will that give you enough time to upgrade the electrical supply to avoid the transformer explosion mentioned on the Super forum? LOL!

Seriously, congrats on the new addition. Does this mean another wash in to showcase all your latest finds?

YAY, they have been picked up!

Here is a better photo then was in the Craigs List ad! (The Lady K combo is Jetcone's and just came out to get some sun! ;-)

Much THANKS to John L. and Jon Jetcone for picking these up and holding them for me!!

They look good side by side:

I'm still curious as to what model the washer is, and isn't that black paneled dryer featured in today's POD?

I like the console of the combo. It has that combination of the 1963 LK, and the 1966 800. The pattern is neat too.

Have a good one,
James

Thats a striking coppertone combo, i wish u the best of luck with this long restoration. Waaaah, we are requesting a vid, when its complete. I know the combo's used water sparingly, with outside exhaust venting and modern motors, balance systems. It would be cool if they came back to market. alr2903
