Dooes anyone know where the old indist crown logo come from as I thouhgt it looked good. But it changed to a diamond symbol in the early 1980's then to the current one about ten years ago. Just out of interest

IND.ES.IT. acronym meaning

IN. = INDUSTRIA = factory

ES. = ELETTRODOMESTICI = literally "electric maids", meaning appliances

IT. = ITALIANA

INDESIT was settled in Turin in year 1957, then acquired by Merloni Elettrodomestici in 1985. So the two old logos were true indesit ones.
It's rather hard to find informations about the former Indesit. No matter you google, everything comes up all related to "merlonINDESIT"

more info in the following wiki-link. It also deals about the different Merloni bros. : Vittorio "Ariston" and Antonio "Servis-ASKO"

Thanks

Do you know that they made also TV's with the name Hirundo that was also dropped. Love pictures of their old SETs

Hirundo!

One of these resided at the hairdressers that my grandma attended in the early to mid 1980s.

Seem to remember that their particular example leaked and they had a creda debonair spindryer alongside it. They also had a tumble dryer too, but memory fails me as to what that machine was.

Cheers
Paul

@ keith : yes they made TV sets with both badges. I had one for a couple of weeks back in the 70's, then my parents took it back to the store and came back home with a white Brionvega Algol. My luck, that small portable Brionvega today is a cult object :)

@ vac : check this link ... 40 y.o. gigantic tub 3 racks (lower for pots, middle dishes, upper glass and mugs)
upper spray arm is under upper rack that's why middle rack is for plates only. In case you'll run into one of these helycopters, wear ear plugs before starting. Neighbour's one (*three* storeys over us) covered our Philips whisper ......
