Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Saw this in Currys today

It's certainly ugly! I don't see why they couldn't just put those features in the normal cabinet.

I highly doubt they're any better made than the normal Indesits.

5 Year Parts Guarantee

I've just had a browse through the brochure that links from the Prime site and it states that there is a 5yr parts waranty now if fitted by an Indesit technician...

So while the machine comes with 12m cover partls and labour, the parts componenets are covered for 5yrs.

That's considerably better than most manufacturers offer and could just be a sign that Indesit is increasing quality and is prepared to stand by its' product.

...and they're certainly not starting the range with 'cut down' prices either GBP349 at Currys and Comet and GBP359 at Argos

OH Finalmente!! A good news to hear!

I don't like this instead... soon commented!

I watched the video on the website - has good looking ppl in

I also like how they show the machine spinning with illumination of the drum. If only the drum had lights in it like that!!

I like the look of the machine fore sure. I would never buy an AEG again which is what we currently have. If we can get an expensive one, will def be a Miele or if a cheaper one then its a Zanussi or Indesit. If Indesit are offereing this on their guarantee then they must be confident of a better made machine. I know of people who have an Indesit and are very happy with them so I think it really comes down to luck with an appliance.

in defence of Indesit CO

As you know, I never miss the chance to put a "h" in the word Indesit .... but this time I won't :-)

3 sundays ago I went away from home to work. As I was supposed to go home next friday evening and to go back to work on sunday evening, I took clothes/towels/sheets for just a week.

But some extra work arrived in the weekend ... and I went off of clothes.

So I had to do my laundry in the boss' washer. Is is a 600 rpm / 6kg ARISTON like the one in the pic . I ran everything in a load on cottons gentle 40°C with extra rinse and crease-guard (pulse spin) options.

I have to admit it has done its job very well. No stains left, no wrinkles, clothes quite well spun (for a 600 rpm machine, of course)
So for its price I can say it is a good machine.

OK, those plastic baffles tell me "pleeeease, don't wash your sneakers inside hereeeee !!!!" ;-))

As I mentioned in another post, my sister has the bol indesit machine. It is on at least twice a day, more often 3 or 4 times. The cabinet is certainly more substantial than the Hotpoint WD440 I had....I moved the machine to clean it and the cabinet dented quite badly when I pushed it back into place...and I am not a big lad!!!

She likes her machine as the cycle times aren't too long and it rinses well.

I'm pro Indesit as I always have stated, they cover full range from BOL to TOL machines like the Moon and the new prime line, so that's normal that people complain about quality, but those complains are always about BOL machines, and even with that you have to bear that with a 18% European market share of Indesit, complaints happen everyday!

Anyway, Favorit, almost all Indesit machines have a programme for shoes that works magic (and are the only ones that offer that)! I've seen it only once: the drum fills with more water than normal and the machine pulse at high speed to make the shoes stick to the sides, then it starts tubling at distribution speed so they don't move, the cleaning quality is great! And the paddles are saved.

Just waiting for one of these jewels near the trash can where other indesit and ariston sisters are already waiting there... I bet i won't have to wait too much time!

Shoe (sneakers) cycle

Gabriele,
Indesit are no more the only ones with it.
Even some Electrolux have it . For sure Zoppas and A.E.G.( a DE model). Maybe Privileg in Germany and Westinghouse in Australia have it too

So the indesit shoe cycle works just like the Ariston wool cycle.

.... and wetsuits cycle too ! ;-)

....it is Minimum Iron 40°C. My W780 began to wash wetsuits weekly since 1995, and it is still working. Now I do them in the W844 (the newer M.I. rinses far better with less water)

Which other machine can survive such a torture like this ? I bet only Speed Queen FL and ex-Wascator E'luxes

new 5 year parts warranty!

Hi Rhonic,
Merloni been offering the 5 year parts warranty since the mid ninties.
Iv'e seen no evidence of increased quality in the field, in fact these latest offerings are the worse yet with there welded tubs.

Its not all bad, cant deny they look fantistic though!

Always maintaining a degre of suspicion, based on others experiences, but i have to say that visually I eally quite like the Prime.

They look even better in the flesh and i do like the very flush front, with even the glazing on the door being flat.

I also like the new Whirlpool 6th Sense machines! again, to my eye, they look a very smart design.

what is happening? even if mechanical quality might still be dubious, visually are we entering a new era of catchy design?

Paul
