It's amazing how the Hotpoints still function so well with the amount of c*** the sumps can hold for years. Nick, did you ever see the pic of the sump on my old Hotpoint? It was solid too.
I have really enjoyed this thread and I hope that one day you find the 95 series you so want.
I sorted my tacho with the lid off, ran a cycle with laundry on a regular cottons wash. Observe wash speed, if too fast(laundry sticks to edges of drum lol), switch socket off, `click' gold barrel back one, repeat until happy with speed. Then wait for it to distribute, check that on distribute most laundry is pinned to sides forgiving the odd shirt or whatever which is flapping around at the back of the drum. If towels are not glued to the edges, distribute is too slow and spins could be violent.
