This was found on a marketplace ad local to me (which in itself is a rare occurrence). I could not resist it...
It looks like a 1971 model, not the fanciest Lady Kenmore version, but still a multi-cycle model.
Like the other appliances I wound up buying from the seller of this machine it is in very good condition. There's so much dust inside the tub that it hasn't been used in ages.
I knew the dishwasher would power up - we had to play 'fusebox roulette' to cut power to it since I insisted that I be the one to remove it from the kitchen. And that was a pain... Folks just love to add a tile floor to trap their vintage dishwashers it seems...
I did some testing this past weekend and determined that the pump motor works in both directions, the water valve gets powe, the heating unit works, the electrically-tripped detergent dispenser trips, and best of all the timer advances.
But oh, those lighted pusbuttons!! If it were turquoise it would fighting my 1966 Frigidaire Custom Imperial and 1963 Whirlpool 'Telephone Dial' dishwashers for a turn as the daily driver in the kitchen in St-Liboire!
Water testing this weekend with any luck!

Congrats!

Do you know the cycle sequence and the length of each step?

I've always been intrigued by these vertical reversing motor non fine filter dishwashers. Frigidaire still offered such a pump beast until the early 2000s on their half size dishwashers.

I remember a BOL Kenmore dishwasher from the 90s that used a similar pump, IIRC the cycle was literally Wash-purge-Rinse or prewash-wash-purge-rinse.

It's been a while since I had a Kenmore D&M in active duty, but I think the Normal and 145° wash cycles were Wash-Rinse-Rinse-Wash-Rinse-Rinse-Dry. I have a timer chart somewhere but I think the total cycle ran 60 minutes (longer if the 145 degree cycle had to pause to heat water).

Not a bad cycle at all. Hope the detergent dispenser can hold on the total pre-wash time without a gasket. Long main wash times, especially ones where the thermal hold is towards the start of the main wash make for great scouring machines. You have a good dishwasher here IMO.
