Insinkerator Classic Supreme, 1989? model

Hi, I just purchased a new dishwasher but have a working insinkerator model from when the kitchen was remodeled by the previous homeowners in 1989. Just wondering if I should hang on to it and try to sell, or if I should let them haul it away. It's in great shape and is fully functional. I also have the original manual for it as well. Posted on Craigs List, but the new machine is coming today so I don't have much time to decide whether to keep this on. Pics on craigslist posting.

Any thoughts?

Here are some pics - it's almond color, built in, and very clean. all lights and buttons work. Panels can be changed as well.

I'm no dishwasher expert, but why let the delivery guys haul this one away?  It looks to be in very good condition and is a re-badged KA; how does it work?  And why is it being replaced?  If you already have it advertised on CL give people an opportunity to respond, and hold onto it for a while.  If there is never any response you can always get someone to haul it off for scrap.

 

BTW, it's a beautiful dishwasher!

It works pretty well, never had any issues with it. Just upgraded all the appliances in the house though, and felt like since this one is about 28 years old so I didn't know if I'd have much time left in it.

After reading some of these comments though, I wish I had looked into this sooner. If I hold on to it, I may have a problem getting rid of it later.

your not going to have an issue getting rid of it at any time......

plus, once you see how the new one works, and how long the cycles are, and maybe the cleaning ability, you may want to put this one back in.....

I wouldn't toss it until your sure.....

besides, with switch out panels, you can customize it any way you want.....

your choice, but I would consider holding on to it....

Well, they're here with the new one and no option to cancel it, so it's mine. I can't really keep this one not knowing if someone wants it or not, since I have no other way of getting it out of here (no truck or space to store it properly really). I think I'm just gonna have to let it go.

Tried calling donation places, tried appliance repair shops and resellers, habitat stores, etc and noone wants it.

I had a Classic Supreme for a while.   It was a good performer, being a KitchenAid clone, and I ordered stainless steel panels for it so it would coordinate with the new stainless stove and refrigerator. 

 

If only you had shown up here sooner, we could have talked you into new stainless panels and out of buying a new machine, which, unless it's an expensive Miele or Bosch, isn't likely to provide better results than your ISE, and will take far longer to get the job done.

Yep, I found this site too late. If I had somewhere to keep it or a truck to get rid of it later on I would have, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. Thanks for the responses!
