I voted for Obama and would do it again considering the opposition. However, my initial happiness of doing so was quickly dashed just before the election when Obama gave the Proposition 8 crowd that nasty little sound bite "I believe marriage is between a man and a woman." At the same time he came out against Prop. 8, so who knows what his view on same-sex marriage really is - evidently he doesn't, or he's keeping it a secret. He has promised to address "Don't ask don't tell", though we've had no action on that while the military continues to dismiss gay personnel.
Given the economic mess we're in, gay rights shouldn't be the number one priority of the Democrats. I do however expect some clear and concise thinking on the matter rather than the mish-mash of platitudes and half-promises we've received so far. Apparently I'm not the only one to feel this way:
