Hey ya'll...
I found three very interesting dryers today that I thought I'd write about here. If anyone is interested, I'll go back and get some pics (wish I had my camera with me) and get a purchase price (I should not promise that they're available but I'm guessing they are). I'll be glad to haul them to my home or storage and you can come get them, or whatever.
FIRST - a 1966 Lady K dryer in Coppertone. The machine was BEAUTIFUL. I was stunned at its overall condition. It has not been outside long at all - still has the "Sears Best" sticker on the left top, just like in the catalog. I know this one is electric.
SECOND - a 1967-68 Kenmore 70 dryer, also in Coppertone. It looks nice too, but had some other parts, etc. on top and was right next to a refrigerator. I could not inspect further.
THIRD - a mid 60s white Whirlpool dryer (I don't know as much about these as Kenmores). It has the little rectangular control box (vertical, not sloped) on the left side. Machine looks mint too but I could inspect even less of that one.
If anyone is interested, I can arrange to get pictures in the next day or two. I am going to contact the shop (they were closed when I was there) but we'd better act soon. If there is one thing I've learned, that is to get the stuff while you can...when I putzed around and finally went back for something, it was often gone, damaged or parted out already.
Please let me know if there's any interest, and I'll see what I can do.
