Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Thats down right ugly in my book...
I paid less that for just about every car i've bought...
I have alot better thingd to do with ten grand... Like build a big shed out back to start a collection

I don't get it....you can't even see the original details or the whole realness of the fridge with all the artwork!

What they should have IMO done is just jagged sections of the panels, to contrast with the "before"...or better yet, bought a new Admiral or Magic Chef!

That thing is just gross. Who would even want something that ugly?

Hmmm......

All right people! Get out your copy of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Psychiatric Disorders (DSM-IV)!

Now, does anybody want to hypothesize about what DSM-IV diagnosis, or combination of diagnoses, the artist/seller might possibly have?

Just to get the ball rolling, we have some minor signs of grandiosity and mania for starters, I'd say...

Pretty bad isn't it? Not what I was expecting when I clicked on the link during my "frigidaire" ebay search. Just about died when I saw the price, and then saw the artwork. Didn't know whether to laugh or just shake my head. Figured all of you would get a kick out of it though.

It looks like a van that my cousin Greg had back in the 70's :-)

Beauty is, of course, in the eye of the beholder, but somethings I just don't get. It's like this hotel I stayed at in Winslow, Arizona: It was an old Harvey House, that had been lovingly restored, and was just gorgeous - except for one of the owner's "artwork", which were huge and jarring, and scattered throughout the hotel.

well... I like it, but I collect tacky things anyway. (you should see my Elvis Viva Las Vegas Lamp)However, that being said, even if I had 10K to burn, I would not spend it on that. It's a pet peeve of mine when eBay sellers price like that. (or anybody for that matter) I am going to have to put it in my watched list to see if there truly is "a sucker born every minute"

Probably, but not at that price. I looked at the auction again and figures... a "newbie seller". They are making the common mistake that most newbies do (including me when I was new to eBay) You list something when you have no idea of what the value is, and you put the opening bid at what you want. Auctions should start low to generate interest, and you should have a reserve on it if you want a certain amount. That fridge is NEVER going to sell for that amount in South Dakota. On either cost, MAYBE, but not there. It's a large "specialty item" that is going to cost a TON to ship. Altho if you are going to throw away 10K to buy it I suppose shipping wouldn't really matter. It will be interesting to see how it turns out tho. Now if it were priced at a few hundred dollars I would have to ponder.....

I just don't see $10,000. These fridges, fully restored, sell for less than $1000. I know from my car hobby that airbrushing is expensive, but $10,000 on a fridge???? My dad is talented enough to do as good a job and would never charge that much, probably a few hundred dollars.

Now I think that this would be perfect for one of those HGTV shows
like "Dude Room" or similar to purchase. They could do a great room or den in a Hawaiian theme and put this refrigerator in it.
Personally, I don't think I'd want to own such a monstrosity for reasons most people above have already stated!

I figured it out!!!!

It belongs in a Chineese Restraunt!!!!

Our chineese place has similar tacky stuff there...

The seller? is an exhibitionist. He paid the fee to put that thing on eBay with a price that says, "I do not want to sell this." Basically he is buying showspace for his treasure. If he got the full price bid, he probably would be very sorry to sell the refrigerator

Lordy

That thing puts the Ugg. back in ugly... Perfect example of what happens drinking and painting!
