Modern Maid from Tennessee Stove Works, definitely one of those brands that rattle when you walk across the floor.
They are in excellent condition. Amazingly well-preserved!

Modern Maid was not in excellent condition when brand new. Back in the 60s, if you walked into a new home and there were MM kitchen appliances instead of GE, WH or FD, the rest of the house showed other signs of cheap construction.

How many Modern Maid , Martha Wahington, Vesta and Enterprize cooktops and wall ovens I still see all are Tennessee products, I would like to have these just for the odd factor, the biggest problem with them was the oven doors were always screwey, they never closed correctly, my Cousin bought a house in 67 that had stainless Enterprize appliances, she thought they were great, I used to aggravate her by saying they were an off brand..LOL, these do have those good Chromalox units with 7 heat controls.

Does anyone remember when GE outsourced a cooktop with a grill/griddle from Modern Maid? It was strange to see the GE badge on a cooktop that was obviously not a GE product.

No but..
In the house where I got the Thrifty 30 Frigidaire, the wall oven in the kitchen was a double oven Norge ....But it was a re badged Modern Maid!
