So today I went to the house where I got the Indesit IS60V. This time to collect a washer! It is a Hotpoint Ultima WT960 in Graphite. So as Dad is in Amsterdam I couldn't have it put in the car. So I went home and wheeled it for a mile and a half up the road to our house. The kind woman said it was in a house fire and displayed an F10 code. Dont know what that is. I am going to pop round tomorrow and ask if they have the manual and fill pipes. Anyway, enough waffle - Here is the washer!

not too bad

Very common, but some fast wash times as you already know as you have another one!

Anyway, for free is'nt too bad, it may just be a simple fix.

Best wishes

P.S Where is the kickstrip?

F10

F10 is pressure switch not sensing. There is a pressure vessel fitted to the sump hose and a thin plastic tube from that to the pressure switch. The vessel might be blocked or the thin tube might have a hole in it.

Looks pretty good.

Actually very good for a machine that's been in a fire. As none of the plastic is melted and the controller works I would guess the fire never reached the room this was in.
As far as an error code for a failing pressure switch I would agree with Fido. Ususally either the tube gets a hole or the boot it hooks into plugs up.
Either way good luck with this machine.

Well done Chris on your find.

I do hope that you can get it up & running. I used to do exactly the same thing as you loads of times some years back.
I can remember spotting a English Electric Twin Tub in someone's back yard & i so badly wanted it but i never had the courage to take it on my first attempt so i went back the following night just praying that it was still there & luckily it was so i wheeled it all the way home through the back streets back to our house. It only needed a replacement pump belt & i got loads of enjoyment out of using it.

Update!

Thanks for all your replys guys. Unfortunately the WT960 will not have a stay in the shed. There is the faulty pressure switch and more besides. A. the cable connector has blown up and the wires have burned out too, well they are black but on the neutral wire there is no insulation and the copper s not connecting any more. I will post a few pics this eve when my camera lead is found. So it will be broken for parts OR Dad having all sorts of electrical qualifications may be able to replace the wiring in it. Anyway, that is all from me. Chris
