I got an Ipad 2 today!

UBER exciting. I love these things!

My mom is going to be buying the white one in a few weeks when they get them in.

This thing has a vast improvement over the original!

These things are amazing!!!

Love the high res screen.

I honestly think these are very reasonably priced for what they can do.

A little failure of a note to us crazy people! :)

Made using a free paint app. Oh I need to get used to doing this.

The hoover symbol is so bad!

Well, I'd say the Hoover emblem is better than I could draw with pen & paper!

There is, unfortunately, always a learning curve to new technology. I remember when I got my first Mac (1st & last computer acquired new!) 20 some years ago, I had a horrible time adapting to the mouse at first. Suddenly, it clicked, and now it's so second nature I don't even think of it anymore. Unless the mouse starts acting up....

I'm impressed by what I've heard about the iPad (I haven't seen one in person). Although, alas, I doubt I'll have one any time soon. Price is too high for me--I'm very much of the attitude of "it can't possibly be cheap enough for me!" when it comes to technology. (I've seen too much latest technology go from expensive to worthless over the years!) Plus, as I understand it, the iPad requires a computer with supported OS, either Windows or the MacOS. At this time, like many house cleaners, I do not do Windows. My primary Mac (not used much at the moment) runs System 7.5.1, and the newest Mac runs OS 9.1. Both of which I believe fall a little short of the required MacOS.

The problem is that iTunes runs on either the Mac or Windows. Plus, from what I hear, the version of iTunes needs to be something that will work with the iPad, and that version of iTunes would require a fairly recent computer OS.

By the way, to take a "screen shot" on the iPad, hold the power button down and press and release the home button...you will hear a camera shutter and the shot will be put in the photos section.

Yea I completely forgot about that. I was using my droid phone to take a picture. :P

Taking a picture with a phone of a picture on an ipad. lol.

Also- I have to say, the new camera/video feature is fantastic!

fairly recent computer OS.

I believe that the iPhone and iPad (along with any of the recent iPod Touch generations) require OSX 10.5 or newer to run the required version of iTunes, maybe in the range of 9.1 to 10.2.1.

I don't stay on top of the latest Windows requirements for connectivity to i-Devices. I'm sure Vista is pushing it.

Man do I miss OS 9.1 and Sound Jam....

@ Brandon - kewl score!

Ben

I believe Swestoyz is right about the requirements. I ended up springing for a MacBook Air so I'd have something to plug the iPad into. The ol' G4 Powerbook just wasn't cutting it : )
