We closed the cottage down for the year with a big pot roast dinner for our friends and neighbors. It was an unseasonably warm fall day, and our dear friend Skip offered to share his Irish family's soda bread recipe with us. He made two types - a sweet white bread with golden raisins and a hearty whole-wheat with caraway seeds. He even brought the Irish butter to go with it! Every crumb of these two loaves were devoured at the table!
