1951 GE up for grabs, just arrange and take care of shipping from Burnaby BC Canada. I need to make space for other machines in my basement. I actually had this up and running at one time, even rebuilding the tranny but the old "new" seals just wouldn't keep the oil up and it all leaked out. This is the 2 pulley transmission and it needs 2 of the older style seals. If no takers I'll strip it down for parts and the rest unfortunately has to go.

GEs

I think there were at least 2 styles of GE washer in this type of cabinet. Robert's AW6 is the original style with the 1140 RPM spin. I think the other style is mechanically different, but I don't know how so. Either way, this is a rare bird indeed and needs to be saved.

I could be mistaken on specifics,
Dave

model AW5 B6

GE's first belt drive. This machine needs to have the tranny redone with nos seals and fresh oil. I wired in an electric pump to pump out only during spin. Needs some new hoses and a suspension spring but otherwise revivable. After putting much work into this I was disheartened when it peed out all the tranny oil. It needs a different seal (2) for the 2 pulley system. I just don't have the desire to strip it down again. I had the timer rebuilt and that works just fine as does the motor.

re: 51 GE

Wow. Well, repairs and fabrication are not a problem for me. Please Put me on the list to receive the machine and I will be checking into shipping options.

Do you have the model/serial No.? I want to look it up on the GE parts microfiche.

Thanks,
joe
