My Mom has one. There not bad at all it will heat soup on high and she LOVES IT.Plus the Fact that Vitamix is 500+ compared to what 150$$ I would not pay 500 for a blender. With the Vitamix your paying alot for the name as with everything else in life.

The Jack LaLanne looks to be a Chinese knockoff but the Hendi looks to be a real Vita Mix rebadged.

There's more and more of these "copy" appliances showing up all the time. A store near us sells one that looks surprisngly like the K-Tec but it's not.

Don't you have enough blenders Louis ?

The Vita Mix is WORTH its price-I have more than one.love these machines.I use mine on average at least twice per day.I don't work for VM,but can vouch for their machines.I also have Blendtec--another machine worth the cost-esp if you do "spin Cookery" a lot.I love both my Vita mix and Blendtec.the JLL machine does look like a knock-off-surprized VM's lawyers aren't knocking on their doors. The Hendi FS machine also appears to be a renamed VM machine.I looked at the Krups machine at Bed Bath and Beyond and was not impressed-cheap plastic drive clutch. The VM and Blendtec machines would be MUCH better than the Krups.Remember the VM and Blendtec-even their household-resedentual models are based on their commercial machines.-have the same motors and jars-blades.On the Hendi machine-VM may have put in a smaller motor if it was rated at 850W.The usual VM motor-at least for the 5000 sereies machines and the commercial units-is 1400W.On another line of commercial VM blenders the motors are 1800W-on the "touch and Go" blending stations.I have one of those-love it!You can see I do A LOT of "spin Cookery"!Mostly all fruit smoothies and shakes.
