Oldhouseman. The name of the show I believe was Dr. Dimento. I used to listen to this on Sunday nights while driving from NH to NJ. Quite entertaining. Wish it was still on.

...because you missed the whole point of my "bewitching" statement.....Samantha was accused by Darrin of using witchcraft to open/close garage door, but the opener was really being activated by a low-flying plane. I thought that surely one of us fans would have picked up on my intent......oh, well......lol.....

There was an episode of Bewitched when Darren ends up having to buy a garage door opener (he didn't want to spend the money) because Samantha was using witchcraft to open the door and Mrs. Kravitz saw it, so he had to have an un-witchcraft explanation.

Oxy, with our garage door opener there was a rope that had a knob on it that would pull that disconnected the "trolley" from the chain, so that you could pull up the garage door. We don't have an opener anymore because ours was unsafe (it crushed a roll of paper towels). So far, none of us has really missed it, but we can't get a car in the garage anyway!

LOL. Sorry "intelligent" does not appear on my resume anywhere! And its not "witchcraft" in my case, it's "bitchcraft!"

OXY my garage has a "people" door as well as a drive-through overhead door, and I do have the thingie described above with a knob at the end.

Steve, we had this same problem--sort of. Turned out to be a bad remote control with a nearly broken contact that was sometimes touching when it shouldn't. Replaced the remote and problem was solved.

Maybe you have an issue with a remote or your wired switch? Just throwing it out there since I haven't seen this mentioned yet.
