Well, thought I would share my "new" record set-up. Picked this up at an estate sale to replace my newer but giving me troubles sony set. This I think is from the late 70s. That 78 player over there is mine that I've had for years. But I did get this other turntable as well. Work Great.
This Toshiba is almost identical to the one I had when in high school. It works better with record players than the newer ones that aren't set up for them. I have the 78 player set into the AUX inputs as it seems too hot for the regular phono.
Interestingly and one of the reasons I wanted to post, as I know some of you frequent these estate sales, is that as I was going through there I noticed my own high school yearbooks, my years, on the shelf for sale. Who would part with their own year books? So I had a funny feeling looking through them and sure enough it was one of the ten or so of my classmates who had passed away, or fallen asleep with the Lord as I like to say. This was his house when he was growing up and this was his father's estate sale. Anyway I had just had my 30th class reunion a few weeks ago so we were actually just thinking of this guy. Don't know if anyone out there has had a similar experience.
So, I have somewhat of a collection of 78s and I haven't listened to them in a while but have been getting them out as of late and really enjoying them...
