For 50 bucks this seems OK, but be sure to open a window and vent the room you used it in afterwards. Keep in mind this puts out a good gallon of water into your rooms air per load, could cause mildew...

Something like this could have come in handy last week when it was raining all week, and the dryer was down. 

 

I have one of those racks and hangers, but I could see this as a good alternative.

The amount of clothing that you can hang in this thing would never hold a gallon of water, and in any event whether you just hang stuff to dry in your home or use an unvented dryer like this you still have the same amount of moisture in your house, people have been hanging laundry in their homes to dry for hundreds of years.

Just hanging the laundry would give a lower amount of moisture per time, allowing for better exchange between rooms and the outside. And even when hanging laundry up, ventilation is important.

And a gallon is indeed a tad much, but even a third of a gallon would be plenty.
