A new GE can opener and Sunbeam Percolator are "breaking the ice" with the old-timers (the toaster and blender)

The jilted can opener - a Pink Maid of Honor - is sulking in the basement. But she'll be fine. Time heals everything, and she's still young.

Delightful. I love mixing and matching on the countertop, often. It's like Christmas each time. The other half mostly gets perturbed when I switch out a can opener though because of the learning curve involved and I'm not allowed to remove the (his) Oster Commercial blender but I can put out seconds. I think the sputnik can openers are great looking, I have a Sears version. As well the GE blenders, does your jar wobble a little if you run it empty or with little in the jar?

It's a small appliance convention

Mixer: "Ooh! Fresh meat!"
Perky 1 to Perky 2: "What's up Frenchie"
French Press: "At leezt I don't burn zee cawfee like you do"
Kettle: "You coffee pots really make me boil"
Sunbeam: "Damn young'ens"

The sputnik can openers I think are the epitome of Jetsonian design wouldn't you all agree. I can't think of any other can opener that comes as close. I also think the GE automatic radiant toaster like the one I found awhile back meets that criteria in all of toasterdom.
