Thanks everyone, I do appreciate everyone's support. Louis I think you are going to really enjoy seeing this machine, have you ever seen a Norge or Wards machine like this operating? If you have I would assume it would have been on one of your trips to the US. If nothing else you should be able to play that DVD in your computer and make it full screen if you don't have a north American DVD player.

Maybe you should construct an email to be sent to all members....there's a lot out there that don't check AW on a regular basis and I would hate if they missed this chance and didn't know about it....
This is a great thought and would like to see many more like it....my prefernce would be a solid tub Speed Queen, and I know I would be upset if I missed thread...just a thought

I'm not sure but I think I never saw a Norge or Wards from that era operating at a convention.
My DVD player plays the DVD of the "pig" so I assume there is no problem playing this one.

A Norge can be entertaining, to say the least. The agitator has an action similar to that of a GE Filter Flo, except it only spits out water through the top and into the pan on the back stroke. That's why we call it the "burpilator". A Norge makes a sound all its own, sort of a moan with each agitator stroke. Then, there's that unmistakable "shotgun" stop. You open the lid while it's spinning, and BANG!! It's totally frozen stopped the very millisecond the strike leaves the lid switch. Startling. But what's really amazing is it works all the same after you close it again!
There aren't too many of the old Norges left. Most have had a hard life. And when something broke, they were simply replaced rather than fixed.

1. Apex !
2. The very first Frigidare 1947 washer, love the white tub and big holes never seen that one wash before.
3.And the Frigidare that has a really fast pumping action then the rest of the models.

Just Ordered mine.
Very happy to donate to the club. When I was a child I took apart a Frigidaire which was exactly the one like you have. I believe it the Oldest One in you collection (1947 ?) I would love to see that machine run. Thanks, Eddie

Thanks again everyone! Yogi while I know what you are saying I don't really want to "spam" everyone, we all get enough of those kinds of emails.

Have some of you who ordered the DVD started to received them? I did receive one email from the mid-west that they just received their DVD. I'm just curious about the fulfillment time with this local company that I used.
Also what did you think of how the Wards performed???? Its quite a washer isn't it!

Watched the whole thing right away this morning. I love the packaging, it's all very professional. The Wards is indeed quite a washer! With those big angel wings, filter, powerful agitation, and a comepletely full tub of water, it really looks as if it does a great job cleaning!
2 questions: Would the filter work on anything other than the higher water level?

How does the partial drain work? I assume it just holds the brake solenoid de-energized for awhile after the motor reverses? It's an interesting design of a machine, very Maytag like. (although some Kenmo DNA with the neutral drain and the multiple spray rinses after both the wash and deep rinse.)

Package arrived today. I've seen these run years ago, a couple neighbors had Catalina washers, same design. Rollover is more lethargic than I remember, but the angel wings sloshing makes for good action.
The spin brake is released when the pressure switch resets. I recall once on one of the neighbor's machines turning the water level to reset right at start of drain, which kicked it into spin ... then panicking a little when the water swirled up high, thinking it was going to run over, LOL. I expected the spinning water would trigger the pressure switch again and stop the spin, but it didn't.
The filter does work at lower levels.
In regards to spin braking ... my F&P GWL08 stops in 3 seconds from 1000/1010 RPM.
