I almost bought set shown in 1 but went w/ Maytag Commercial
That washer looked like my old Whirlpool model I had in the 90s with its mechanical looking control and center post, BUT it is NOT. It may very well have auto temperature control where hot is not really hot too.
Fortunately, I came across some reviews by Lorain Furniture and Kirk Rivas and was able to cancel my order. I don't post much anymore, but this post caught my attention. I think you can buy the Maytag Commercial at the same store. I am so glad I purchased the commercial model instead (thanks to Lorain Furniture and Kirk Rivas). I've had mine for about three years now. No issues, and I've really put it to the test in my kid and pet friendly home. On some days, I've ran it from morning to night (when one of my kids' apartments flooded, kid brings home a semester's worth of clothes during college break, my teen cleans out her room, etc.). There is HOT tap for all of the deep water cycles (this manual is misleading!). All the cycles work as expected meaning Powerwash is awesome for soiled clothing and delicates gentle. The difference in the wash action is because of the dual action agitator. Not only does the agitator move in a different direction than the tub BUT the two pieces of the agitator work independently. Clothes are moved down, in, and through the water. Even that bulky comforter will turn over with ease.
The biggest quirk is the only smaller load is Normal Eco. This is also the only cycle where hot is warm and warm is cool. It has a spray rinse instead of half tub rinse BUT it works surprisingly well. This cycle is also great for quick washes and for smaller loads. When I have a small load of white, I just fill the tub with an extra hose I have that is hooked up to hot water. The only thing this Normal cycle is not good for is that small load of delicates--you'll have to run a full load for that.
You will breeze through laundry. I can do a Powerwash cycle in just 45 minutes or a Normal in just 25. Throw them in the matching dryer. A load is done in 1.5 hours or less! I am still using my old mismatched dryer, but plan to get the matching dryer when the old one goes out. I think the cycles on the set you chose will take longer.
It might be worth your time to really watch some reviews by Lorain Furniture and Kirk Rivas on BOTH of those models.
For the extra $, the Maytag mvw575gw model comes with a FIVE years parts and labor warranty in the USA. Don't get the mvw576kw from Lowes (same washer but only 1 year warranty). Some of the parts like the motor, belt, bearings, etc. have been upgraded). Mine came with some good quality fast fill hoses too. BTW, that outer plastic ring has a purpose. Instead of coins going under the agitator, they stay vertical between that outer plastic ring and the moving agitator.
I have the USA model. It has a black console panel and the rest is white. It is listed as 3.5 here, but it holds as much as my 4.2 cu ft. FL did.
The only other top load I would get is the Speed Queen TC5 (silver panel NOT the black panel). There are reviews that compare both of these washers. They both have plusses and minus, but the wash action of the Maytag is where it shines. It won't last as long as my old Whirlpool set, but I do believe it is one of the best new top loads on the market today. I can repair most things myself due to its design.
