LG F1402FDS6 9kg 1400rpm steam in black!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D:D

Cannot wait for this one. I've ummed and ahhed for days as this is my most expensive purchase to date and after this the only machines i am allowing myself to change are my collectables. This will take pride of place in the house!

Sooo excited. I'm sure it won't disapoint. i've read up lots and watched countless youtube videos. I wanted to save for the 11kg model, but my 2nd son was born on Weds 23/02/10 called Ash & the 6kg zanussi doesn't have the features i want or need. I'm particularly looking forward to the medic rinse.

Pics and vids will be up soon as i can

welcome Ash !

congrats Darren !

...also waiting for your detailed report about medic rinse, when you'll have some time to do it :)

Traitor :P

Darren!

You've given up the Zanussi for an LG, im not happy! ;)

Does it have a 10 year warranty in the UK? That's pretty much unheard of on any other machine isn't it?

What's happening to the Zanussi? And how are the other machines?

Congratulations on the ickle one by the way :)

Liam.

Congratulations Darren. Can't wait for your review.
Will be interesting to see the different drum movements they advertised!

Darren, I not only sold hundreds of the L.G.s but had a set for a few years. Mine were the models with the rear controls and worked perfectly the entire time I owned them.I would deliberately do different complex tests and came out with awesome results.I now have a different set I got from an unsatisfied customer as well as a nice Frigemore front loading stackable washer with a GE Harmony Gas dryer that another customer brought in for service but frowned at the cost to have them repaired leaving them here for a fee of only $125!!!The dryer needed a new mother board and the washer needed a new door latch/lock and control panel frame. Neither had been regestered with Sears or GE and they were both repaired free after I called and regestered them!!

Thanks guys! I can't wait to get this machine! It has loads of features that i want and need. I.e the 9kg drum. Variable rinses, temp, spin!

I can't wait to see all the features in action and to let you know how good it is with plenty of pics and videos.

It wasn't an easy decision either. I spent a fair wack on this machine and the pricetag opened up alot of choices too. I'd wanted a bosch logixx for ages. If they'd released the black one here i'd have had it. But for this sort of money i expect all the variables and features possible.

I even considered the 9kg black aquasteam whirlpool as was hooked by its looks but not there reliability or noisy motors!

Liam! I know what am i like hey...don't worry i still have the vintage zanussi it won't be going awaywhere! The essential when i bought it was a compromise as i didnt have alot of money and said if i had to make do with a basic machine it had to be a zanussi, however it doesnt go below 40. doesn't have progress indicators or time remaining. It did me well as a basic machine but i really need the larger drum, faster speed and variable temp & rinse. I liked the zanussi enough to consider the 8kg model. but i fancied a change and something top of the range and had been reading into, watching alot of youtube videos and decided the LG would be great for us!

Glad to hear

the WDT won't be going anywhere :) Did you scrap the one with the dodgy bearings in the end? You were contemplating it when we chatted last.

Will you be selling the Essential or is it keeping the WDT & Bosch company in the garage? So many questions, sorry!

I know what you mean about the Essential - whilst i'm not massively bothered about huge drum capacity, i might be if i wash washing for two young kids!

I know exactly what you mean about the lack of progress indicators/time remaining aswell - it really bugs me on our Essential when you can't tell how long the cycle has left to run or where it's up to.

Luckily ours doesn't have the other negatives you mention as it's got 1400 spin (yours is 1200?) & the ultra rare variable temp selection, but i know the latter is as rare as rocking horse sh*t - why didn't they include a 30c setting on the other models at least?! You can select 30c on all our cycles, though we rarely do as i'm a 40 & 60 kinda guy ;)

Anyway hope it works well!

Liam

Hi liam!
I still have the knackered zanussi Washer/dryer. I've not given it a thought for a while! Don't know weather i'll keep it.

The essential is moving to the garage for now. Weather it will stay or be sold is debatable. I do like it but...i don't know how often it would be used!

Yea the lack of progress & time remaining is really annoying. Especially as i wander in and out to check on it. So say i want to catch a rinse with time remaining i know how long i have left before i miss it lol!

Yea yours is the independant special! This was the offering we had when i was a trainee manager for euronics!

Looking forward to having an all singing all dancing model again! :-)

You will love your new LG. I had the intelowasher 6 yrs ago and loved it. Super quiet, washed very well and if you use the short wash option gets the job done in a reasonable amount of time.......so no doubt in the last six years LG have improved things.

Congratulations!

You wont be short of loads of programmes from LG. Loads of options, variables and crazy electronics to enjoy.

Well it arrived at 3pm!

Where do i start?! This could easily be the best machine i've ever owned! (And i've owned a few!!!!)

It looks absalutely stunning in black with the HUGE chrome door!

So i plumbed it in! And ran it through the Tub clean cycle!

It does a prewash & then a mainwash at 85deg which really is something it fills a few inches up the door, does some normal long tumbles THEN it flys up in a spin! Flashbacks of philips machine and then it stops and does it in the other direction!!!!!! this continues and when it has did the spin after the wash and interm spins it filled and drained at the same time whilst spinning! to clear the suds!

Once that was over with...time for the fun to begin.

I had a huge loads of colours to do. I selected Cottons 30 with steam selected!

The door locks and the machines flings everything into distribution speed to weigh the load. then the inlets cycle on and off repeatidly...some more sensing..then it fills properly and then the recirculatory jet comes on. The tumbles are great a medium speed and long tumbles with short pauses! Amazing! Steam is amazing too..i'll get to that!

Another really unique feature is the machines ability to spin in EITHER direction! really cool..which ever way it balances it spins..on this cycle is span clockwise most times it span, then before the final rinse & on the final spin it span anticlockwise! Its so so entertaining!

Its great to have TRUE fuzzy logic again! From the weigh sensor to the control of the rinse water which was mainly in the rim of the drum...medic rinse increases water level & heats to 40deg on the final rinse to remove residual detergent! I've yet to try that!!

This machine is RIDICULOUSLY quiet! It has a wonderful humm to it!

The display tells you in both percent and minutes aswell as what stage the programme is at with some funky graphics to boot!

Rather helpfully is the childlock which stop my inquisitive 14month old son from throwing havoc to the programme lol! He likes to watch the washer with daddy...lol i told him to get his own hobby!

After this i tried the steam refresh programme! wow! This really does work! My other half had been to her nans and the grandparents both smoke. as she'd only put the clothes on that morning when she got changed for bed i put them on the steam prog! 18mins this take..the steam was visible it looked like a washer/dryer when its on the drying function :-)

Everything came out smelling perfect! I see this being used before work for my shirts too lol!

So...thats it..i'm exstatic and i've only done one load and a refresh cycle! I've plently more to do tomorrow and will get some pics up!

Darren

how cool!

i'd love one too!

my lg spins in both directions n does the load sensing at the beginning but yours is much better as it has steam refresh, steam during washing, medic care rinsing, tub clean etc etc.

Hope you many years of good service! would love to see it in action, babies do love digital appliances, that happens at our place too! lol

Take care

Thanks for update
