With all the discussion with regards to Tide and their many versions,
Cold Water, vivid, with bleach, with Downey, Original, Free and Clear, liquid vs powder, possibility of a new one "Tide Simple" ect
( makes me dizzy )
Has anyone noticed that Ivory Snow has slowly disappeared from the store shelves?

Has P&G discontinued this one?

I think so...

I've only seen two versions of it..

Sams Club carries it, it's nowhere near the Detergent section though, but, it's near the Health & Beauty Section, sometimes near the Diapers in the Store, and it comes in a very big liquid bottle.

Th other Place, is Ollie's. They have Closeout, Powder, boxes of Ivory, for a pretty good price. I thought about picking up one, but, I really have too much detergent on hand..

I think they only currently manufacturer the Liquid Stuff though, and that's really, really hard to find around here.

You may have luck, at some Toy's-R-Us stores. Some Carry Laundry Detergent.

I don't know, but a local grocery chain with a good selection of powdered detergents put their remaining Ivory Snow on closeout last year, and hasn't had it since.

Not sure what was special about it, since the soap version was discontinued when they went to compact boxes 20 or so years ago. It was sold as being good for baby clothes, but that was probably just marketing.

Have Seen Ivory Snow Powder Here And There

Locally, and while cannot speak directly as to why you are having difficulty finding it in your area, one suspects low to nil sales caused shops to drop the stuff.

Competition for shelf space in stores is fierce, and products that do not move tend not to last very long. Case in point Tide powder is now limited to one or two offerings in small boxes on the bottom shelves of most shops around here. The rest is liquids, liquids, pods, pods, etc...

John

Please forgive me if I sounded rude, I didn't mean it to be.
I should have been clear in my original post, that it was only a mild curiosity, and that I don't use it.

The last time I did use Ivory Snow ( about 2, or 3years ago ) it really dulled my Maytag E tub!
This was the powdered version, and I can only assume it was loaded with sodium carbonate!

Just sort of missed seeing one of the original brand names missing from the shelves.
