Hey Everyone!

Happy New Year!

Mike and I are working on a kitchen renovation and I'm curious if anyone has seen the Jenn-Air oiled bronze color appliances in person? What do you think? The planned kitchen will have painted maple cabinets. Moss green on the bottom and cream on the top. I'm thinking the bronze might make a great stainless alternative.

Sears lists some of them (cooktops and wall-ovens) as a brown color choice. I'd love to find a NYC area showroom that has a sample. I'm interested in the smooth glass cooktops/micro wall oven combo and range hoods. (I've attached the cooktop link that started my quest!) Everything else will have cabinet panels.

Thanks for your input.

John

Looked at the link, I like it and think it may be a good choice with your other colors.  It's good looking without screaming trendy.

From years of experience I've learned to stay away from trendy kitchens - simple, classic design will still look fresh years from now with only minor updates.  I'm kind of burned out on stainless, but see nothing on the horizon to be a solid replacement.  So I think we will see it used along with black and white for the time being.  I have a blend of Bisque and black appliances in my kitchen, and for me I think it works, none are next to each other so the different colors are not visually jarring.  The black is just the oven and microwave and it was a decision I made to avoid too much sameness.  If I were to replace all the appliances today there are a few brands that have a warmer toned stainless I'd certainly consider, over the colder hard look of others.

Hope you enjoy your new kitchen, but enjoy the process too, for me that's half the fun.

We've seen the Jenn-Airs

in oiled bronze finish, a fridge to be exact. The finish is absolutely gorgeous and wish more manufacturers would offer it, or bring back Coppertone! If we were to buy new rather than vintage appliances, we certainly want oiled bronze, it is a timeless look. The vintage Chambers wall oven and cooktop units in our VT lake cottage are in Antique Copper finish, very similar to oiled bronze, and are commented upon by everyone who sees them.
