Hi guys, I just found that greenish GE kitchen mixer here at a local fleamarket. It is just the motor base (aka handmixer motor) and a standpost with a rotatable disc for a bowl. The beaters and the bowl are missing. The unit is for 230 volts, probably a left-over of our now gone American solders here.

The machine says "cat.no. 22M35F" on its metal base plate. It is greenish (well, more like stale pea soup, this strange 70s colour anyway). There is a small turning knob under the handle, it goes continously from off to high speed (and that brass looking decal is declaring all sorts of mindless recommendations such as "folding in dry stuff", "beating", "whipping", "kneading wheat flour" bla bla ad eternam).

The stand looks rugged and that turntable can be inserted in two different openings, making the bowl go off-centre, probably for different turnover speeds.

Are there any GE specialists here?
On one hand I like it as it is so rare over here, on the other hand keeping it would mean opening up a whole new GE range of collectibles and I am missing the space. I might sell it as well, but are there serious GE mixer lovers out there? I would not want this beauty to rot away with some "retro shop" roach (you know the line: YEEEESSSS, I AM a collector and I have NO clue").
Better one of you guys, so the mixer has a cozy and loving home.
Or should I keep it?

GE Mixer

Consumer always rated the GE 2 beater stand mixer kindly.  It didn't have the weight or features of the competition but it was powerful, quiet and versatile.  The first model had a rounded snout with a sliding lever on it's nose to change speeds.  The innards pf your mixer are the same but a somewhat boxy design was adopted.  It is quiet and better than any hand mixer of it's genre if you decided to go stand free.  The turntable won't take much stress and as a precaution you may want to glue the spindle and any hair line cracks you see by applying the glue to the underside of the turntable.  I have beaters and a small bowl if you want them.

sounds good

thanks Kelly. Here are some pix (had to recharge the camera overnight). This is the mixer as I got it, haven't done anything to it yet. Will regular gearcase grease be good or does GE use a different lubrication? The motor sounds perfect, yet a little "dry".

Regular German Krups beaters should fit perfectly well, at least they do in my "DIM 47" hand held space ship GE which was missing the original beaters as well when I found it.
They are probably too short or too long for the stand, but you could at least use it as a hand mixer until you get the right beaters and bowl.

Grüß Gott!

Gute Idee, that is at least something to start with (Krups beaters). On the other hand, that friendly elderly lady who I got the machine from, she was so kind to take my phone number and promised to keep me posted, if she should ever find the beaters again. So I will give it some time yet.

But Kelly, your offer is tempting, how much do you want for the accessories? Paypal ok?

Tom, that makes makes perfect sense. I didn't even think about two bowl sizes. Thanks!

Pay Who?

I am happy to send the small bowl and beaters if you send me your address.  The mixer was designed to be permanently lubricated and in a few rare cases they will emit a squeal.  Oddly I encounter these issues more in machines that have set unused than those beaten to death (no pun here).  Should you choose to disassembled the machine, the speed control and governor are pressed onto the end of the armature and three odd tensioners press on the points in the switch.  They are a bear to get reassembled correctly.  You may choose to spray a bit of lubricant at the bushings, but I'd let it go at that.  There is no gear case cover and the nylon gears are clearly visable when you open the case.
