Hello Everybody
I am being curious how rare is the Whirlpool, As I just Aquired one for my collection and it is my most cherished one for sure. it's the Imperial Mark XII and it is just in mint Condition and has the Power Nozzle is really turned me on to it as I do have the ABC power nozzle with my Compact C5 but love the shape of the RCA power nozzle. I am looking for the Attachments for it as it only came with the power nozzle and dusting bush but I know this won't be an easy task to find but one never knows.

WP vacs

Were these made for many years? I have heard of WP vacs, but never have I seen one nor knew when their existance was. Do you or anyone have a pic of one?

Hi Mr. Tide yes I do i will email you a couple of pics of it thru kodak as my pics need editing to post on this site and don't know how to edit them. I'm not sure how long there were made but I think from the mid 50's to the early 60's

For a number of years,

Many Kenmore (Sears) canisters were made by Whirlpool. I don't think most (if any) are currently made by Whirlpool.

In the great Whirlpool Combo ad with the adorable weiner dog, a Whirlpool vacuum is included as part of the Whirlpool logo.

Whirlpool- Kenmore

Whirlpool started making canisters for Sears in the late 50's, and in the 60's the Kenmore Duo Power uprights were also made by Whirlpool for Sears.
Whirlpool never did have a much of a chunk of the vacuum market, so when Sears politely suggested that Whirlpool not make any vacuums with their own name and just focus on the Kenmore name, they were happy to oblige.
The Whirlpool name on a vacuum would next appear about 1986 with Whirlpool's short-lived Power-Clean line

We had an RCA Whirlpool canister vac when I was but a wee tot. It was square and a minty-green color. Don't remember much about it except that it was loud.

Here's a confession: just today, I went to Sears and bought a Galaxy upright on sale for 30 bucks. No, I don't need it, I just wanted to see what it was like.

And I liked the color!

I won't keep it long. My nephew is setting up housekeeping and I'll give it him.

Kenmore now...

Is made by Panasonic, has been for some time. Whirlpool sold their vacuum business to Matsusita(sp) and now most Kenmore stuff is Panasonic.

Check This Out

Here is the 1957 Kenmore that won a blue ribbon for "Historical Value" at the VCCC convention last month. It's a Whirlpool and one of the first with a power nozzle and probably one of the first with an integrated electric hose. Charlie Watrous suggested that I bring it and I am glad that I did! Does that Whirlpool look like this?

skip and I have just been talking about these two canisters and yes, it is very similar, including the powernozzle. David

Choice of attachment sets

Thats actually something Sears did up til the early 70's David. I have a 1971 Sears Catalog that offers a choice of attachment sets with each cleaner. Powermate or Suction only..

Thanks for the scans Robert
