I wonder who changes his vehicle's oil?

If it's not the mechanic, it's gotta be the wife, BF or the "tomboy" sister.

LOL

the absurdity of craigslist ads never ceases to amuse! and Robert, is this machine not good enough for the Imperial forum or what? ;)

I am so happy to have found this machine. You see I Picked up a Spin cycle on clearance the other day, but didn't have anywhere to use it. It just goes to show what my Mama always said is true. "There is a spin cycle out there for everyone."
"and everyone needs a spin cycle."

I hearby nominate you. Go forth and prosper. We expect a full report! ASAP!

*LOL*

And as for you I-heart, AHEM-- don't be hoarding those spin-cycles. Leave something for someone else. *LOL* (eyes roll)

I think I saw a sale ad for either Wal-Mart or Kmart and they new spin cycles for the low low price of $19.95, while supplies last.

A while ago I saw an ad from a guy who was selling an encyclopedia. He stated that he didn't need it any longer because he just got married. "She knows everything better anyway!" LOL --

TOO FUNNY LOUIS

repairman says, "Well madam, It looks like you need a new spin cycle."

Madame:"I don't understand, didn't you replace the spin cycle last week?"

repairman:"Yep, You just turn the dial to where it says spin and pull the knob out..." "That will be $203.95!!"

Madame:"So this is the last I'll be calling you to fix this right?" (Hands repairman cash.)

Repairman:"Yep, sure is... HaHave a good day." (walks out of house and mumbles "Till next week")

Spin Cycle

I think there's a NOS Maytag spin cycle out in my garage. I wanted to upgrade my wringer machine and I never got it done. Anyone who wants to hunt for it (and clean my garage out) is welcome to it!

Oooh, hey guys check this out!!

I just found a vintage spin cycle on ebay that includes 7 spray rinses and it appears to be in incredible condition! Can you believe it???

I would love to have one and would consider bidding, but as usual, the seller thinks it's worth an absolute mint since its vintage. They've got the starting bid at $1200 and a Buy it Now at $1650! Yeah, good luck with that buddy!

Again, I'd love to have one, but I'm not THAT close to checking myself into the psycho ward just yet!

You know, I was really surprised at you all, especially you Robert. Many of us are parts accumulators here, and I know I personally have lots of FSP spin cycles laying around that I've either bought myself direct or found on ebay. I even have a couple used ones that were too nice to throw away when I replaced them.

There is lots of fun to be poked at the mis-informed Craigslisters, but can't one of us cough up one of our spin cycles NIB for the poor fellow? What's one less among parts hoarders anyway?

:-)

Well, We Did It!

This morning Karen and I stopped by our local Maytag store and talked to them about buying a spin cycle. This was VERY hard to do for us to prevent from cracking up.

Here it is:

We walked in the front door of the Maytag Store in The Woodlands, Tx, a nice upscale area. We were met by a nice middle aged man named Gary. We told him that we were considering buying a used washer for my sister, but the seller told us it needed a new spin cycle.

Me: Do you have a spin cycle in stock for this machine, or is it a special order item?

Karen: You know if the spin cycle is gone, them maybe we should buy a agitate cycle too as it might be ready to go.

Gary: (30 seconds of silence) How do you know the spin cycle is shot?

Me: The unit drains but won't spin. All it needs is a new spin cycle.

Gary:
Well, you probably do need a new spin cycle, but it isn't packaged like that.

Me: You mean you don't have a package for this machine labeled "Maytag Spin Cycle"?

Gary:(Looking at us like this is some kind of Candid Camera show) No, there is more to it than that. You have to find out WHY the machine isn't spinning. It could be a transmission or it could be the motor.

Me: The seller didn't indicate that it needed a new motor or transmission, just a spin cycle.

Karen: And don't forget about the new agitate cycle too.

Gary: I don't think the guy who is selling you this machine has it right. You can't buy a spin cycle or an agitate separately. You have to find out what the problem truly is and then replace those parts. The agitate cycle goes in one direction and the spin cycle goes in another direction. They are all controlled by the transmission.

Me: I guess we were mislead.

Karen: Well, you know how dangerous the internet is to buy stuff from......

Gary: I guess you guys have it in a nutshell. I would look for a machine that is working properly. Those older Maytags are really good machines you know.

Me: Well thank you for your time.

And we left. As we were driving off we could see Gary standing in the door with a BIG smile on his face. I'm willing to bet it made his day too!

LOL, Allen you two are too fabulous. Love it!

I wonder if any naughty person from here has emailed this seller with a link to this thread, I can only just imagine what they would think. "WELL I'VE NEVER" comes to mind.
