Greetings:
I have another issue with our 2000 model year KitchenAid (Whirlpool) gas dryer model KGYS750GT1 (not underwear related this time!)
The moisture sensor on the back of the drum bulkhead ended up getting yanked off by something. I popped it back into the holes in the bulkhead (it seemed a bit loose) and took the back off of the dryer to reattach the wires, etc. The first thing that I noticed was that I only see one wire that would attach to this sensor. I looked all over in there and I do not see a second wire. Shouldn't there be a second wire to attach to the other electrode?
The other problem is that I did not find any clips, washers, (as shown in the exploded parts diagram) etc. laying in the cabinet to reattach the sensor block to the bulkhead. The little plastic tab does not seem to be strong enough to keep it in place.
When I look at the diagram of the replacement "sensor kit" it shows two clips instead of a clip and a washer shown in the exploded view of the machine. If the original sensor had these parts I can't see where they went. At this point, I may just order the new kit and hope that it will work but I hope no other parts are missing.
Thanks in advance for any advice on the wiring/attachment of the moisture sensor.
