Just need to lament for a moment. We have a 20-25 year old BOL contractor grade GE dishwasher. It doesn't clean worth a damn, and the racks are rusting out. I had a beautiful Hobart KA Superba in the basement that I had been longing to install for years. My sons and I finally convinced my husband that we needed a new dish washer (at least I thought we had). He insisted that we get a new one and wouldn't even consider installing the Superba to see how it performed. So, I finally caved and donated the Superba to the ReStore with the promise that we would buy a new dishwasher. The Superba had been gone less than a week when I mentioned the new dishwasher to my husband. He gave me this blank look, "dishwasher? The one we have works perfectly fine..."

I agree Louis,

No dishwasher, no lovin. Or better yet leave the damn dishes in the sink and let Mr. Tightwad do them. Then he can see how "perfectly fine" it works.
Also when you do finally get him to cave in make sure to go for a KitchenAid with Cleanwash or a Point Voyager Maytag.

Go buy the new one and have it delivered and put in a place where he will fall over it or be in his way... My parents did this over a microwave

Naw

Do one better.  Don't tell him, just go buy a new dishwasher, have it delivered and installed.  Then see how long it takes him to notice.

I'm betting he will never know, well unless he looks at the checkbook.

Get over to that ReStore & see if you can buy the K-A back! Maybe even an amateur install by yourself +/- kids can get 'er hoppin' or find someone to put 'er in...

Otherwise, go Bosche!
