Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

I just don't understand the fascination with these things. They have very little interior room. The freezer needs to be defrosted manually. Except for the handles and the Foodarama logo on the door they aren't very attractive (they remind me of an old Nash,) and they probably weigh as much as the car you drive. I guess it's in the eye of the beholder, at least that's what I tell myself when I put on my makeup.

My first back injury in this business was when moving one of those back then. Heavier than sin! It actually snapped a gate cable on my liftgate and almost went for a fall.

I think the facination with these old refrigerators is the same facination with other older, less-efficient appliances.

It's in good WORKING shape which is more than acceptable, but it's missing some items that I'd rather it have, because they may be hard to find. For example: The juice containers in the breakfast bar, the second crisper box and the handi-drawer, and it's missing a roll-out shelf.

This refrigerator, however less-spacious or efficient, will be the centerpiece of my mid-century kitchen of tomorrow!

LOVE the Foodarama!

In order for me to buy this for their asking price,it would need to be in pristean condition and have the original finish.Otherwise,my offer would be $100.

Bugsy Bugsy Bugsy....

I am always making you upset. They just seem kind of squatty and fat to me. Maybe I don't care for them because I think if I turned into an old refrigerator I'd be a 50's Foodarama. Goodness knows I saw plenty of these when I was young in several colors too. I'm sure if you accquire one it will look great in your kitchen. Make sure you pull that cover off below the freezer and clean the condenser. Some fake bananas would look cool in the ripening bin...or real ones as long as you don't let them turn black. And put a roll of freezer wrap in the dispenser too. And if you should hear that a nuclear attack is imminent, take the shelves out, get inside (fetal position) and close the door. That fridge will be the last thing standing in all of Kansas.

Still no bids and I can understand why. If you were Pharaoh and could say "attenton fellas, I need 5000 of you to stop working on that pyramid and go move this fridge I bought" then you might be ok. Better to just keep your old Admiral Duplex.

Well,

I hope whoever won it is happy with MY refrigerator.

I had it right in the palm of my hands then poof, it's gone.

Like so many other things.

Tim...

Were you the $1200 bidder? I know the feeling of having someone sneak a winning bid in a few seconds after yours. I'll bet if you keep looking you'll find a better more complete Foodarama for less. You just know some old lady in Wichita's got one all covered up with a chenille bedspread in the back of her garage.

No. I didn't bid that much.

I was the first bidder.

I kept it low in the hopes that I would be the only one.

Then I had to leave for work.

When I returned, the auction was over and the final bid was sky high!

I wasn't too happy.

too high

I don't mind putting up some cash to buy a great piece once in a while but when I do - the unit has to be really complete. This one was missing a bunch of cosmetic parts that would have been near impossible to find.
Another one will turn up - There are usually like 2-3 of this model a year that turn up for sale.
