Anybody know if I can substitute a basket drive with a different part number for the basket drive that originally came on my washer (original basket drive part number is 366659)?
I see several for sale on ebay but I am not sure if those have a long enough tube or if the springs are strong enough.
I bought a new/ refurbished basket drive from a local appliance shop a while back because it was the last one they had. I never checked the part number on it. I installed it but the springs were too weak to fully engage the brake. So, I re-installed the old one which works fine but has some grooves in the tube. I would like to eventually replace it with one that doesn't have any grooves in it.
My washer is a Kenmore 11072693430. The basket drive part # is 366659.
