Hello! I am new to the forum and am trying to figure out the year of the dryer that I inherited at my new house. The serial number is 110-7358640W. Should I get rid of it? Anyone interested?

Also, there is an older Maytag washer. Not sure the year.

Congratulations on your new house

There is nothing wrong with this dryer, designwise. It might need a bit of a tune up if the rollers, the belt and perhaps the rear seal need replacing, but it is a very well designed dryer and there is not much about the good, Whirlpool-made 29" dryers that has changed over the decades so save your money.

The washer will probably last for many more years, too. If you like traditional top loading washers, hang on to the Maytag because you can't buy anything like it now. Often when you move into a new home, there are things you want to do that take money so I would say to save your money by not replacing these until something goes very wrong and even then, you really can't buy a better dryer than what you have.

another one

I just picked up one of these the other day…Its like modern for 1968 or so early 70s…what does the washer looklike any ideas or pictures…it has a cool curved back in plastic which is now collectable ….i want a washer...

Thanks for the replies. We have a newer washer and dryer, so we are hurting more for space. I didn't want to curb it if there was someone who might be interested in it.

Let me know.

To clarify things:
The dryer is a late 1960s-very early 1970s "Match-all" Kenmore dryer. There never was a washer made that was an exact match to this console. It's innards would be standard WP/KM stationary bulkhead design. VERY reliable and parts are still easily available.

The washer is a 1990-1993 Maytag. Orbital transmission. Lower end. 16 gallon tub, 1 speed. Again, solid machine, easily repairable. Parts are still easy to obtain.

rental machines

I hope more people get rid of these machines for there are not enough for all the collectors now….I would not take a new anything over this machine…even with money..
