Is that the original timer dial? The red lettering looks out of place, somehow.

Self-cleaning filter. Malcolm, it COULD be. Friends in Dallas had a 70 series dryer extremely to this dryer that had the reddish/orangish letter on the timer dial. Their dryer had kind of a woodgrain look rather than silver behind the start button/signal dryer. Their dryer also had wrinkle guard.
