I know more than a few people with Kenmore brand washers, but I've never been around during the unwrapping/connecting phase.

Do/did Kenmore's come with Tide? I've only been around Whirlpool and Maytag unveilings.

Our first Automatic, the '64 Whirlpool Imperial, came with a small, yet real box of Tide.

The second one, the Maytag A208, came with two sample/vend size Tide boxes.

My current Maytag came with two small boxes of Tide, but one was Tide with Bleach.

Tide

Amazing,Tide was ANATHEMA in a WP/KM machine, causing a lot of suds lock. And notice the obvious slap at DASH?

That was the golden age of brand management at P&G---it was no-holds-barred battle between the brands--Dash versus Cheer versus Tide versus Duz. May the best one win (and get the brand manager his (at the time) next promotion!

I wonder if this was just before Sears started sourcing detergent and paint from Desoto Chemical (I think this was the name)

Hey there... does anyone have a Kenmore like the one pictured in this ad that is for sale? I am very much interested in purchasing one either restored or in restorable condition. This was the machine that made me fall in love with Automatic Washers. Only catch is, it has to have a suds-saver. I have several pictures of me and the machine while I was growing up and would like very much to own this piece of my childhood.
