Smooth Top Range

If in fact is is from 1974, it wouldn't be Ceran. More like a Corning Top. A world of difference in performance between the two.

Ceran vs. Corning

rockland1....how do the two differ, anyway? Corning no good?? I'm curious to know. I've an 80s JennAir which did come with that same type white cooking surface cartridge (which I sold off before I ever even used it). It even had the same decorative pattern on the burner locations. I opted to keep the solid hob cartridges instead.

Yoikes!

This model I remember.

It was Sears' answer to the GE Versatronic.

Having a fair amount of familiarity with Sears' ranges of that period, I can only say this:

You don't want it.

It wasn't exactly world-class when it was new, it was not as substantial as other brands and if you need parts for it, what's left of Sears will laugh at you.

Yoikes!! Sandy....you crack me up!

I absolutely don't want the thing....way, way, WAY too happy with my range (and I have this lifelong policy of "No Wards, No Sears"). Thought I'd post it up here just in case there were any Kenmore completists....cannot recall the last time I saw one of these things in a Kenmore badge.
