ANTIQUE LADY KENMORE WRINGER WASHER - $425 (LANSING)
Wringer washer fans: Here's a pristine example. Did Wringer Washer technology peak in the 60's or just get the bean-counter treatment of lowering quality/costs and increasing profits by the time wringer-washers were discontinued? Too bad…no money shots.
Kenmore Elite Washer and Dryer - $275 (Kingsport, TN)
ad: " I have a Kenmore Elite washer and dryer that work perfectly. Selling them just to update the appliances in the house. The dryer has an electronic control for dampness. Both are fairly large capacity, not sure exactly how big though. They do have some nicks and scratches on them however these can be touched up with black paint if it bothers you. The dryer in the pic shows some of the trim missing, I do have it and can install it before you pick them up. They are not currently hooked up as the new appliances have already been installed. They have no issues whatsoever."
Dryer brand is Norge or Montgomery Ward. That was the slimline washer and dryer series. There's a POD with the washer & dryer that the washer has retractable wheels to allow it to move about. I don't think there was every this black shade for a Kenmore washer & dryer this low in the line--a 60 or 70 series. This could have been refinished after purchase.
There was a family who relocated up here with the rest of us. They built a 3-story hours pretty much on their own, husband was a big-time engineer. 1987 and all appliances were the "in" color, black-glass look. As I went by the laundry room, I did a double take. The washer & dryer were a center dial Kenmore pair and they had been professionally refinished in the matching color as the rest.
