After a constant annoying itching from using "Ecos" all natural detergent I bought from Costco in December, I took it back today and got "Kirkland Signature Ultra free" to try out. I compared both Ecos and Kirkland "enviromentally friendly" detergent, and they both had about the same ingredients in them, and I wanted to avoid the itching.(which I was suprised it did that)

Who had tried out the Kirkland Signature Ultra Free, and what was the results?

I've been using the Kirkland Ultra Free HE liquid for some time now.

It works well enough on bath towels, which is about all I use it for.

I might also use it for delicates or washable wools, but I don't do those very often.

I prefer it to the environmentally friendly liquid because it has no fragrance.

Kirkland Ultra Free HE is all I have been using in the Maytags for the past couple of years now. I noticed better cleaning results when compared to Ecos. I use to add oxygen bleach to warm loads but quit when I started using and supplementing STPP in its place. I have nothing but serious praise for it with that combo, but I use it in a top loader and have a temper valve so cold is consistently 80F and warm is consistently 118-119F. Hot runs around 146F and I use both STPP and oxygen bleach with whites along with Kirkland soap.

I tried Ecos years ago in the Neptune. It washed ok, nothing special, but I really was turned off by the aroma it left on fabrics. Kind of disgusting. I don't recall it causing any itching but since I used it only for towels there wasn't much chance for prolonged skin contact to initiate a reaction.

The worst liquid I've ever tried in the Neptune was Wisk HE liquid. Washed poorly, oversudsed, and left a strong unwelcome fragrance. The finale was that the nearly full jug of it that I stored in my workshop split at the bottom and dumped sticky viscous concentrated Wisk all over the bottom shelf and adjacent flooring. Ever try to mop up a thick liquid detergent? It keeps on sudsing and resisting absorption by sponges!
