Someone on here has beeen searching for a way to accomplish this task, but I forget who it is.

I don't know if this is a kit you can purchase at a store or one this guy builds.....it seems to come with the sink hookup also, which usually runs about 30.00 alone!

It would fit my bill for now, I am working on the kitchen in the basement, and for now a portable would be great, but this would allow me to get and undercounter model, use it for now, and when the time comes, install it permanently...

What about a broken portable? Couldn't you just use the case from a scavenged portable to put an undercounter model in? There isn't much portable selection anymore, but you could build a portable out of the fancy models by just using the old case.

I was looking for something like this in case my Whirlpool portable dies. I could buy a less expensive built in and turn it into a portable. There really isn't much of a decent selection in portables anymore.
