KitchenAid 3B handle and speed knob

Hi Y'all,

I've got a destroyed Kitchenaid 3B. I was planning to pull the handle and speed knob and sell for parts on eBay. I can't for the life of me figure out how to get them off in one piece. And if I manage to get them off, I find myself wondering if anyone else could get them on their mixer in one piece...

Anyone know how?

BTW, I'm happy to send the parts or the corpse to anyone here who wants it.
