I made meatloaf using the beater blade. It worked great - no scraping of the bowl required.

Scraper Blade
The people I know who have the beater scraper love them. Kitchenaid won’t endorse them but they also accept it as harmless addition. For Kitchenaid to release one of their own or endorse this one would mean admitting the mixing action isn’t perfect already. The 5 quart bowl lift has a deep narrow bowl and of all models needs the most assist. I was not a fan of Kitchenaid until the Pro series was released with a wider bowl. That model mixing more thoroughly splatters less and requires no Manuel assistance. I never scrape the bowl, ever. I start slowly and then increase speeds to prevent plastering it to the side of the bowl.

I set up housekeeping in 2004 after leaving a 28 year marriage. The original Kitchenaid appliances were white. A warrantee replacement of the coffeemaker came in black and slowly I've been converting to black. The project is near complete. I am still looking for a slim line black toaster.
