Klunk

My duet is about three years old and it seems lately every time it goes from the wash or rinse portion into the spin mode it makes like a klunk sound as if it is laboring to start the spin cycle or it is about to stop, and then continues.
Any thoughts out there , is it the beginning of a problem or is it normal for these machines once they get to a certain age. I have noticed it is not as quiet as it used to be and when spinning, depending on the load, it could vibrate you out of the chair in the room directly above it at the time.

I have a duet washer thats 5 years old and notice the same thing but for me if its a start of something breaking down i will be replacing it and not have this fix and by the way is your model loooking like the one in this picture? and when it do this when its near the final spin i can see 16 minutes and then it jumps straight at 12 minutes starts the spins and around 10 mintes to 8 minutes tumbles as if the spin was over and then restart well for me that means that i may have to replace it soon. And i would replace it by a good old fashion topload with agitator as for me they are better washers when it comes to wash efficency.

Most of the machines do something like that during spin, in order to prevent creases from fixing on the clothes when using a high rpm spin. Others instead do some kind of gradual spin or pulses

My machine does similar when it's at the final spin but this klunk sound concerns me when it changes gears,and as stunned as it sounds, I don't know if my duet is direct or belt driven?
As for the top loader Pierre I'd look now because it looks like the 1/2 hp motor is becoming a thing of the past to the new 1/4 hp motor.I'm no mechanic but I don't think,and I could be wrong here,a smaller motor on these washers may not last as long, so you may want to buy one now and stash it away for later.
I see you have the Duet my friend and I were wanting when they came out, so you may want to keep it up to snuff?
You now have a classic Whirlpool something to be proud of when it comes to new FL technology here in Canada
