Hello all! Here's a washer that looks pretty interesting. Its from an estate sale, can anyone tell what "year" it is and if its desirable? Still works and still has manual. Its selling for 350$ which is no doubt too much.

Also, are Kenmore parts easy to come by? I know the Maytag parts are still produced for the Amish, in fact I just ordered a few parts for them for my pink Maytag.

Sometimes life is truly miraculous ~

Hello Zachary!

Haven't tuned in in a month of Sundays, and you popped up just as I logged on. I see you're a newbie. A warm welcome. For a Visimatic lover like me, this a a very rare dream machine. It hails from the late 50's--7, 8, or 9. If we can get the model number we'll know immediately.

There were only two models with the wash and drain controls configured in this fashion. One was somehow electronic, and you pushed the levers; the other was manual and you pulled the levers up. Not sure which one this is. Each model was offered for only one season. Not to get lost in the weeds, but Whirlpool (Kenmore's manufacturer) made an electronic model for its own brand, and I could be
mistaken about the Kenmore version of that one.

This machine saw very light usage. How I would love to have this, if you do not buy it. Would you provide the details, please. Thank you,

Michael

Hello Michael! And thank you, I just joined about a week or so ago. Finally made the plunge and got myself a pink maytag wringer-washer, so joining this forum was a necessity! Pictured below. Well I better jump on this one then! If it doesnt go through Ill be sure to pass all the information onto you. Its going to be a long distance ship unfortuantely, but that seems to be how it goes with all these washers (nothing is ever close).

Another question, are Kenmore parts difficult to come by? I know the Amish still make parts for their MAYTAG washers (Ive just bought several from them recently).

That's a beautiful Version of the Classic Maytag-- the lettering, the color--AHHHH.

Don't really know about parts for the WP/KM's though. Repair Clinic comes to mind. Believe other members know of a very few other remaining parts sources.

Where is this machine?

I"m a basic member so Ill need to wait about 30 minutes before i can continue posting. This washer is in Michigan specifically, getting it to Florida where I am is a challenge. Uship.com has worked for me so far. Sure Ill try Repair Clinic (hopefully ill never need them), since it currently works well.

Im also seriously considering this Kenmore too, these are the sellers pictures to prove that its working. Have you seen this model Kenmore before too?

1961 LKM Wringer Washer

Welcome Zackary, And hi Michael glad you checked in.

This KM WW was built in the 50th week of 1961, it looks to be in great shape. Parts for WP built WWs are non- existent, even parts like a water pump are not around.

That said the KM WW is a much better performer and safer machine but the MT would be easier to keep going because some parts are out there however keep in mind most repairs on WWs are not easy when it comes to water and oil leaks broken gears etc.

There were a few KM WWs with an electric shift for the agitation and pump controls that worked off the transmission with solenoids like the WP automatics, Like Mike said these were rare and of course they were not electronically controlled.

You might try offering a lot less for the LKM as it is unlikely to go for anything close to $350.

That newly posted beauty is indeed from the 50's, Mid to Late, and it is in incredible condition for being nearly 65 years old. There are so many Visimatics on Ebay all the time, the best ones often going quickly, but the gem in post number one is not among them. Of course it's yours, but curious as to where the pink pushbutton masterpiece is located.

The kenmore is actually located in Michigan. The Maytag is being shipped to me from Wisconsin. The white Kenmore is located in Portland Maine

Oh Mickey! I also saw you had a black stone wringer. There’s one on eBay I’m considering on buying. What are your thoughts ? Do you still have your black stone? The one on eBay would be a huge gamble since the seller never replies to messages.

The Blackstone works perfectly, even the timer which has failed on a few other machines after continued outdoor washing. So is the Michigan machine on eBay or Criagslist?

About the Pushbutton timers on WP/KM Conventionals. Circa 1960, on its Automatic Lady K, Kenmore delighted us with an all pushbutton, no dial timer called rapid advance. Breath-taking. So I figured this item on the Conventional was electronic. My bad, but now to hear form John that it was a solenoid is even more fascinating. Just like the automatics. I would give an arm and a leg to see and hear such a rare bird peep.

The Michigan one was on Facebook Marketplace actually. The one in Maine is this Kenmore below. That one is on Facebook too. Ive found that FB is probably the latest and greatest way of finding these washers. Easy to communicate with buyer, making offers, and getting additional pictures. I recommend it.

For the Blackstone, Im attaching a link. Id like your professional opinion really, its been sitting on ebay for a few months. I just like the look of it. Again the seller never really replies. Do you by chance know this machine? Its located in CT not too far from you

Maybe if our Fred, the Blackstone Czar, (smile), comes around, he'll comment. The machines were made in Jamestown, NY, seventy miles from Buffalo where I live. There were Blackstones all over this area. They are powerful, reliable workhorses. I have the Royalist Automatic and the 330p Wringer exactly like that of your post. I love them; they remind me of robots, somehow. They march on relentlessly, no matter what.

The one you seek is interesting because it has severe wear in spots, but pristine in others. Negotiate the price. The Hydractor agitator in action is a sight to behold. Connecticut is a hike from Western New York. By the way Zack, where in tarnation is Montverde?
