Hi all,

Very new to the forums, first time posting in fact!

I've been looking for anything, an image, advertisement etc. for any Westinghouse dishwashers from about 1965 to 1970. I grew up in late 60s new community where one version of the standard install was a GE free standing double oven (Americana), GE bottom mount (sometimes side by side) fridge (Talisman) and a Westinghouse dishwasher, all of course in either Avocado Green, Harvest Gold or Coppertone...and the occasional white. I can't find anything on those dishwashers, I'm pretty sure the model was a Westinghouse Jet Swirl. This was in Canada as well - not sure if that makes a big difference. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Canadian Westinghouse dishwashers

sorry for the crappy pics, they're off my phone..... the Canadian the top load portable with the Jet-Swirl was never produced in the US. Instead, a top-load D&M was fitted with a Westinghouse label!  They also produced impeller models with this style of controls.

Thanks to Everyone

@pulltostart - thanks so much for the pics and response, and sorry for the late reply. The link you posted here

is definitely what many houses had. There was a higher end model too, had around 8 or so buttons, and different shape, they were longer and thinner (insert joke here). I'm amazed at why Canada would have had such different models, do you know if the Canadian models were Westinghouse produced or just a label slapped on?

Thanks again for the response, loving this forum!

@steved thanks for your reply and apologies for the delay, thanks for taking the pics! The images look like a later model than what I saw in my neighbourhood growing up - I didn't see any solid state models at all. Makes me wonder if 1969 was a year they had a major change. As I said in the post just prior to this one, I'm amazed that the models in Canada would be that different from the US, seems like a lot of cost. Interesting the team "mixed load" used for a cycle - that I definitely remember! Kind of a strange term - I mean, what load isn't "mixed". Thanks again!

The Canadian appliance business was more fragmented than the US business--more brands and lines to fill up; and fewer factories to do it. I think there were still some tariff barriers until the 80s...there was a significant amount more re-labeling of the same unit for multi-brands; yet they couldn't get away with being significantly technologically behind the US (given media and retail accessibility to the majority of the population)
