BOOMER BLUES: not hilarious, but brought a smile; hope you do too. If you young'uns need any translations, call Jon Jetcone. Happy Birthday Jon.

It was fun being a baby boomer... until now. Some of the artists of the 60's
are revising their hits with new lyrics to accommodate aging baby boomers.

They include:

Herman's Hermits--- Mrs. Brown, You've Got a Lovely Walker.

Ringo Starr--- I Get By With a Little Help From Depends.

The Bee Gees--- How Can You Mend a Broken Hip.

Bobby Darin--- Splish, Splash, I Was Havin' a Flash.

Roberta Flack--- The First Time Ever I Forgot Your Face.

Johnny Nash--- I Can't See Clearly Now.

Paul Simon--- Fifty Ways to Lose Your Liver

The Commodores--- Once, Twice, Three Times to the Bathroom.

Marvin Gaye--- Heard It Through the Grape Nuts.

Procol Harem--- A Whiter Shade of Hair.

Leo Sayer--- You Make Me Feel Like Napping.

The Temptations--- Papa's Got a Kidney Stone.

Abba --- Denture Queen.

Tony Orlando--- Knock 3 Times On The Ceiling If You Hear Me

Fall.

Helen Reddy--- I Am Woman, Hear Me Snore.

Leslie Gore--- It's My Procedure, and I'll Cry If I Want To.

And my favorite:

Willie Nelson--- On the Commode Again.

Thanks Pete

"I can see clearly now
the rain has come," etc.

that catchy happy number--I thought it was done by a group. Johnny Nash isn't ringing a bell. Were there two versions?

It's 104 in Buffalo too, that plays the Golden Oldies.

There's really not a good oldies station around here. They play the same ol' songs and stupid Onstar commercials in between.

WTIX 94.3 in New Orleans is the best because they play not only the old top 40s but some really rare grooves.

Drain Hose

I need a drain hose for a Maytag E2L wringer washer with gravity drain. I located one but it broke into when I tried to attach it because it was too old. Does anyone know where I could locate one.
Thank You for any ideas.

Jason and Rinso, those are pretty funny. Thank You. My stool

Dasher, any standard generic drain hose--the black ones-- should fit over the port.
But you shoud ask Geoff, since all my machines have pumps.

It took a moment but then it ran across my brain--cocaine

Nice to see you. Realize you've been around lately, but you were gone for the longest time, fall-winter. Everything okay? Hope so! Hope you saw the Lady Kenmore Visamatic.

and maybe in a few more years, you'll see...

Don't Go Breakin' My Hip (Elton John)

Me and Julio Down By the Rehab Pool (Simon and Garfunkle)

Crazy Little Thing Called Gout(Queen)

Aching on the Moon (The Police)

Edge of Seventy (Stevie Nicks)

High Blood Pressure (David Bowie w/ Queen)

Hello, Perco

1, 2, and 3 went down like jello--hilarious, esp. hip & gout-- but 4, 5, and 6 need a translation. Do you believe it? Maybe after my bike ride, they'll come to me. Happy Beautiful Saturday, Mister Prince!!!

Hey Mickey, from a former Buffalonian, Chuck.
A very beautiful Saturday here! Perc and I are actually getting some work done outside!

Original titles:

4) Walking on the Moon (Sting? Police?)
5) Edge of Seventeen (Stevie Nicks from Fleetwood Mac)
6) Under Pressure (David "Ground Control to Major Tom" Bowie). Vanilla Ice said he didn't steal the major riff from this song for Ice Ice Baby, though everyone knows he did. He just added a grace note to the beginning in a weak attempt to make it his own.

Hope this helps!!

Chuck

Under pressure....High Blood Pressure--Of course. How did I

Too bad Vanilla Ice's honesty was not up to the level of his looks--what a shame!

Spring came early here, then went away, now it's really back for good we hope.

beautiful calm and sunny 60's & 70"s Fri., Sat., & Sun.--YIPPEE

Have a great weekend, Chuck and Pete. Going to La Nova tonight for BBQ wings & Sausage, Peppers, & Onion Pizza. mmmm good. Remember?!

Mm-m-m-m-m-m-m

-Broadway Market

-Zephyr's on Broadway - Weds. 10-cent wings and playin' pool

Yummo!!!

Chuck

"I can see clearly now..."

Actually, that was a hit for Johnny Nash in 1972...don't know who the band was that played behind him, but it was one of the first reggae-flavored tunes that caught on with the public...and it relaunched Nash's career for a couple of years...his follow-up, "Stir it Up," was even more reggae-flavored than the first...

(Good practicing tune for a a conga player...I know...)
