Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Robert,

Thanks a lot for your reply. I imagine there's quite some work involved in making those changes.

Here are a few suggestions I could easily live without but I'll make them anyway!

About the number of active threads in each section, I was wondering if there could be a series of pages showing active threads, like on other forums I visit. Older threads could remain active but displayed on page 2, or even on page 144... And if someone would like to add a comment to an old thread, it would be brought back to page 1. I don't know how Google works but I imagine this could solve some of the problems related to the number of links displayed on each page.

As most of us care about keeping things from the past active, keeping the older threads active rather than archived would make sense to me! I don't like too much when there's a lot of sticky threads with no new post since last year on the first page of a forum and you have to scroll down to see the newest posts (and I know there's no such thing here!), but sometimes it's fun to resurrect an old thread when some related information/questions could be added to a topic without having to start the same discussion all over. And with available email notification, some members who don't watch the new posts everyday or even every month could visit and add comments if the old thread they posted in resurfaces. Members posting about a particular machine of their collection could update their original thread too if they did work on their machine of if they have a new issue with it or just if they had fun making a video of it!

Another nice feature of some forums is that email notification could be turned on/off for each thread you post in or you can choose to subscribe to a thread even without posting in. It can also notify only once when there's a new post after the last one you read from each thread you subscribed to and the email links bring you directly to the first unread post from the thread you're visiting. That's nice on 14 page threads!

It could be nice to have multiple page threads instead of having to make a part 2 and a part 8 in a different thread.

It would also be nice to be able to do multiple quotes in one post so you could reply to 3 posts at a time because sometimes, it's hard to link too distant posts in a discussion.

It would also be nice to be able to post links anywhere you want in a post rather than at the bottom and to have a feature that allows you to embed pictures from other websites. I know it's already possible and I occasionally do it (I love to see pictures!) but it seems to be challenging to some who (like me) aren't too familiar with computers.

Just took at break for awhile to concentrate on meaningful aspects of life; peg bags and that sort of thing.

It is nice to know one has been missed. To all my friends out there in the dark; thank you.

Land of Laundress

It's funny - I was thinking this about a week ago, or more - wondering if "she" took a vacation..or decided to give it a rest? I have been thinking about "her" for a week, and then this thread...thought it was strange, as "she" always has alot to say of interest or funny.

Hellooooo out there...any Laundress listening?

meaningful aspects of life; peg bags and that sort of thing

Laundress, I think I speak for us all when I say, people today aren't pegging enough out!! You should see what I see!

YAY!

Thank-you Launderess for "popping up" on the radar once more :-) Your thoughtful advice and help are always welcome here!

And peg bags? I thought the pegs just stayed out on the line! How mistaken was I?

Hopefully you are well rested after your Holiday in Tenerife at Bruce and Violets Holiday Flat.

Sorry, couldn't resist...

11 minutes

At 12:44A.M. , my posting hit aw.org - and 11 minutes later, your(Laundress) post hit, but shows up before my comment. (How does this work, Robert? )

Anyways - this place isn't the same without your rants, raves, links, conjectures and wrinkles. :-)

Phil

peg bags and that sort of thing

I'm not sure it's very nice to refer to your new hubby, the Miele repairman, as a "peg bag", but...

Who am I to judge???

Seriously, glad you were able to tear yourself away from Violet's pony and whatnot and pay us a courtesy visit.

Please do come again!

AquaCycle you so get me! What a treas!

Well you see Laundress, the thing is...time and again, I'm poked in the street by complete acquaintances..."AquaCycle", they say, "how do you keep so young? Do you perhaps inject yourself with a solution deriving from the placenta of the female Gibbon?"....I say "well, no, as a matter of fact, I don't"....

I'm The Other Way

One has become so famous people feel intimidated and hide in shop doorways because they feel inadequate.

Must dash, have a manic-depressed chum to visit. I go every week and read her the People's Friend from cover to cover. Do all the voices but she never seems to cheer up.

When I first met her she said "I'm a radical feminist lesbian" I thought "what would the Queen Mum do?" so I just smiled and said we shall have fog by tea time.

Then she asked "are you intimidated by my sexual preferences"? I said "no, and I'm not too struck by your donkey jacket either".
