Interesting...but I think that I'll pass.

Being allergic to 95% of the fragrances out there I try and avoid places where people are likely to wear a lot of perfume, etc.

Thankfully in the Seattle area people tend not to wear nearly as much fragrances as people in other areas of the country!

I'm heading to a JC Penney on Friday, Lee; I may have to drop by the cologne counter.

Can you imagine the hard sell involved with getting the idea for laundry detergent-scented cologne through product development and promotion/marketing, LOL?!

Why would you WANT to smell like a laundromat?? A bizarre choice for a "pick me up spray" don't you think? A blend of detergent, softener sheets, the scuz people don't want to wash in their own machines at home and ashtrays doesn't exactly make me want to pay money for a bottle. How odd.

I dunno, if it really smells like a true laundromat with the various detergents, fabric softener, and the faint hint of cigarettes... I might adore it! I loved the scent of the laundromat when I was little, it still smells pretty much the same except there is less of a cigarette smell to it now...

Pulsator, you hit the nail on the head! Cigarette smoke is a big part of what laundromats ACTUALLY smell like. To be really authentic, it would have to include:

1. Cigarettes
2. Detergent
3. Spray starch
4. Cheap ethnic food
5. "Humidity"
6. Overheated motor

That's not entirely pleasing, but I guess it wouldn't sound as good to just call it "clean clothes."

Well!

I think Lee was trying to present something he found interesting and of potential interest to some of us.

I have smelled other colognes by Demeter, and the ones I have smelled (not all of the line--and not Laundromat, yet) have been very pleasant. Even the (rather) odd botanicals like the tomato plant one.
