PERSIL (German variety) - Overall a nice scent and good performance butvery expensive. I do wonder now if I would prefer the liquid formula better.

ULTRA (Costco) - Nice washing powder and great price. This product is no doubt one of the best values out there. I paid like $11 for it. This detergent is a workhorse! I ause a little more than the package recommends but at this price who cares. The scent is very faint which is nice because the lilquid formaul smells way too strong.

METHOD (sweet water) - Overall okay performance but you have to use way more than the recommended amount in order to get the "slippery water feeling" that convinces me the detergent is working. Too expensive but a nice scent.

ULTRA PLUS (Sears) - A good detergent with real cleaning power but you do need to use two scoops for a conventional top-loader. Little-to-no scent in the powdered version. The liquid version with fabric softener has a great scent. the Oxy variety cleans well too and leaves a nice hotel-like smell to sheets and towels.

I saw Seventh Generation liquid at the local grocery couple days ago. Also a Wisk HE liquid. Tide Free HE. WM still carries Tide HE powder, the grocery only has liquid. Lotsa choices, should have made a list.

I use a conventional Whirlpool Super Capacity water hog - LOL. I cannot foresee myself moving to a front-load machine anytime soon - something about using so little water makes me think things are less clean. I know it is not true but... I suppose I am old-fashioned.

Laundry Detergent Sampling Sources

I happen to receive newsletters from Komando.com, Cereal.com, as well as directly from PG.com, Unilever.com, and a few other major companies. Please beware of offers requiring you to provide too much personal information, such as credit card and Social Security numbers, as well as any underlying or embedded surveys or requests to purchase a variety of items. Oftentimes, the product samples from WalMart.com and directly from the makers themselves are usually no nonsense and straightforward.--Laundry Shark
