Floor laid, baseboards installed and touched up... floor vacuumed (I brought the miter power saw into the room and it did put out a fair amount of sawdust).
All that's left is to decide what furniture (there was too much before) to move back in... and then do it.
The vacuum in the photo is a "Bissel Butler" that I got about 10 years ago. I didn't think much of it at first, given that it has no HEPA filtration, but as time goes on I've grown to appreciate its quiet performance and all around versatility, esp on hard floors and dusting. None of my floor vacs do a very good job on hard flooring. It has a little dust cup that one can easily bypass, a telescoping wand, a retractable cord, and a little bag with a fullness indicator. Even the dust cup came in handy for this job - it quickly filled with sawdust but it was easy enough to dump it out. The big wheels make it very easy to manuver, as well. And there's even a big carry handle for moving it from room to room.

I'm enjoying the new flooring in the bedroom. So far I'm keeping the furniture in there to a minimum, which makes the room more... roomy. I'm also probably not going to put the big Chinese carved wool carpet back in there. It just takes up too much floor space in the walkway at the end of the bed. Might go with a smaller (washable) area rug by the bed, that's all.
