Any electronic/light geeks out there. I would like to mount 6 to 12 colored LED lights that will go off and on separately in random blinks of about one second on and significantly longer, varied off intervals. I would prefer low to 12 volts delivered from a transformer that plugs into the wall socket. Thoughts?

Kinetic Light Sculpture

This piece, making the illusion of movement by changing color and shadow (from different light angles), first (in some prototype work I did long ago) used colored C-7 Twinkling lights (like on old Christmas light strings) and I may have to go back to that. I was hopeful that an LED solution could be worked out but, yeah, probably too complicated.
I like the idea that when an object of a primary color is hit with certain colored light it either disappears, or changes. I would like to make an object "appear" only rarely while other objects appear and disappear, and change color, and then the shadows move. Kind of an ambitious project I suspect.

Socket Buttons

I also tried a prototype that used buttons under a colored bulb in a standard socket. The buttons would cause the bulb to go on and off. The problem was that the buttons would bleed voltage so the lights were never all the way off, just real dim. The "twinkling lights" at last shut off all the way because of the filament separation.
